Public PlayTest Alpha08: UPDATED March 04, 2012
FabulaDivina-PlayTest-Alpha08.zip
New content will be added in Alpha09. We are trying to get more of the engine refined right now.
Can you find the boss?
What demo wouldn’t be complete without a boss fight? If you find the king, and talk to him, he will give you a task, and lo, a fight will ensue, if you can survive the trek to him.
If you kill the boss, the king will open up a 100 level random dungeon!

Thanks so much for downloading Fabula Divina. We hope you will enjoy what is already here, and enjoy the potential that is to be.
FIRST:
This is an PlayTest Alpha. This is the first public release. There has been internal testing only to this date. Honestly, it may not even work on your system. We hope that it does though…
SECOND:
Why release something that may not work? Because people are asking to see what it is like. We want to get people interested in what it is, and what it can be, and what it will be! We hope people will come to see it, stick around, or help out! :-)
WE WANT FEEDBACK. We are a very small team. One programmer/game designer/one game writer, four artists, and two composers.
THIRD:
Fabula Divina requires a 1024x768 playing *WINDOW* which means you need a larger resolution than that to play.
Fabula Divina is written in Java, and has been tested with Java 1.6. It is written using NetBeans 7.0.1.
Fabula Divina is written on a Mac. It has been briefly tested on Linux and Windows as well. It should work.
FOURTH:
This being an alpha build, we want to make sure you know what you are getting.
You are getting a work in progress.
It may not work.
It may not work well.
It is not currently optimized.
It may be slow.
There are BUGS! They crawl around. They are not just the cute kind in the game either! Please help us find bugs so we can squish them.
There is no story yet. It will be published when the engine is in beta.
Not all the mechanics work
Not all the mechanics are balanced
Not all the mechanics are implemented.
We want feedback! There are going to be things that make the game FUN that we will not think about, and we would love to hear from you what they would be so we can bake them in.

A shell script called play.sh has been provided. Launch play.sh and the game should launch.
